Designed for writers of film, TV, and online scripted projects, DubScript is a professional screenplay editor that offers industry-strength features. It supports popular script formats like Final Draft (.fdx) and Fountain, allowing you to edit in plain-text. With DubScript, you can easily convert your auto-formatted screenplay to print, PDF, and .fdx formats. It also supports editing plain text Markdown markup files (ending in .md).
DubScript allows you to create a new script and write naturally in the free-flowing plain-text editor without the hassle of manual formatting or indentation. It helps you maintain your writing flow by taking care of screenplay-specific formatting automatically. You can choose from over 900 fonts, and the editor provides auto-suggestions as you write.
To ensure convenience, DubScript lets you save your work directly to your device's storage without requiring an online connection. If preferred, you can save your work to cloud services like Drive. When you're done writing, DubScript does the hard formatting for you with a single swipe. It takes care of indentation, page breaks, CONT'Ds, page numbering, margins, and text styling with ease.
Moreover, DubScript supports the Fountain markup language, which is an open standard for writing scripts in plain text. This means that your screenplay file is compatible with any plain-text editor. You can easily exchange files with other apps by copying and pasting or using the Share button to send a backup via email or messaging apps.
DubScript offers a range of features to enhance your writing experience. It supports easy plain-text format that can be copied/pasted and is compatible with other apps and text editors. You can read Final Draft (.FDX), Trelby, and Fountain scripts and output to PDF, .FDX, HTML, or printers. Markdown text-format support is also available.
With DubScript, you can save files to your device, cloud storage, or share them with others. The app provides over 900 writing fonts to suit every writing mood and genre, with industry-standard 12 pt Courier Prime for PDF output. It includes a built-in Wellness Exam feature that scans for potential format issues and offers helpful suggestions. Moreover, it supports features like title page creation, dual-dialogue formatting, and various text styling options.
Other features include auto-suggestion for character and slugline, undo/redo, find/replace, spell-check, auto-complete, keyboard shortcuts, scene numbering, notes, and more. It also offers auto-bold sluglines and transitions, typewriter sounds for an immersive writing experience, US Letter & A4 paper size options, locally-saved recovery backups, script-to-speech functionality, and comprehensive statistics and reports.
DubScript is available for Chromebook/foldable devices and is compatible with Android 14. For those who want to try upcoming versions, test releases with the newest features and bug fixes are available through the beta program.
While all features in DubScript are fully-enabled with unlimited scripts, the app offers an ad-free read mode. Optionally, you can become a DubScript supporter by subscribing monthly or annually to disable ads and remove a small "DubScript" message from printed output/PDF. The subscription can be canceled at any time.
